Faith Markers

Today we went to an Herb Festival at a small town near our home. We had a wonderful day and, of course, brought back lots of plants for hubby to plant. The weather did not start out well this morning, but by the time we left the sun was out and it was glorious. The festival has a separate area for children, so the boys had a terrific time while we were able to shop in peace. After the festival, we went back home and played outside and just revelled in the unexpectedly nice weather.
Some days are like that: they don't start out well, but somehow end up well. It serves as a great reminder of what God can do with my day and my life. He can take what is bad and some how redeem it as something good. It is what He did with Joseph's life. In Genesis, Joseph tells his brothers that what they intended for harm, God intended for good. There are things in my life that I did not see as good while I was going through them, but now that I have the advantage of hindsight, I can see the good that was intended for me and for my family. All of these things serve as "faith markers" for me. And, it helps me look ahead with hope, knowing that the God who was faithful in the past will be faithful in the future.
